He collected four birdies in a five-hole span around the turn, then birdied the last to get in at minus-20.

"I just want to go out there tomorrow and go as low as I can," said Quinney, who won the 2004 Oregon Classic. "I've got to shoot seven- or eight-under to have a chance to win. I've been in this situation the past couple of weeks so hopefully that will help."

Jaco Van Zyl (63), Justin Bolli (66) and Ricky Barnes (69) are knotted in sixth place at 18-under-par 198.

Stephen Marino posted a seven-under 65 on Saturday and is alone in ninth place at minus-17. Ryan Armour (63) and Jess Daley (66) are tied for 10th place at 16-under-par 200.

Woods became the first player since Tom Watson in 1982-83 to successfully defend his title. He ran his record to 11-0 in major championships when he held at least a share of the third-round lead.

Jim Furyk, who squandered a chance to win this year's U.S. Open on the 72nd hole, shot a one-under 71 and took fourth at minus-12.

Hoylake, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Another major, another chance to contend and another blown opportunity. That sums up Sergio Garcia's week at Royal Liverpool. On Sunday, he played in the final pairing with eventual winner Tiger Woods and began the final round one shot off the pace. The Spaniard bogeyed the second and third holes, then bogeyed eight and nine and fell out of the tournament.

"It's a shame," said Garcia. "That's the way it goes sometimes. I definitely didn't play the way I should have scored today. I hit a lot of good shots that were just on the wrong side."

"Nothing seemed to go my way," said Garcia. "I'm not disappointed. I felt like I played the way I wanted. I hit three or four bad ones. I felt calm today. I probably felt the best I've ever felt at a major putting."

He dueled with Woods on the back nine Sunday in the 1999 PGA Championship at the ripe age of 19. The runner-up finish at Medinah was his best finish in a major.

"I'm looking forward to Medinah, now even more," said Garcia. "I feel like my game is coming along."

Despite inordinate amounts of preparation at Royal Liverpool in the weeks preceding the Open Championship, Mickelson was only four-under par through two rounds in benign conditions.

"More for self-gratification than because it's going to move me up the leaderboard or anything, I just want to play this course well one round," Mickelson said on Saturday.

Things went south from there for the reigning Masters and PGA Champion. He bogeyed 12, 14 and 15, but closed with his fourth birdie in as many rounds at the par-five 16th to post a two-under 70 and tie for 22nd place.
